About Agama PatasalaThe Agama Patasala or school of Agamic study is the traditional context for the preservation of the Vedic culture and recitation. In modern India the Agama Patasala system is rapidly disappearing as fewer young people pursue these studies and also traditional sources of funding diminished. The focus of their curriculum is on mastery of the entire Agama, memorizing of verses, understanding their meaning and application, reciting them in complex cyclical patterns, reciting them in impeccable pronunciation, inflection and resonance and create a strong custodians of these powerful mantras and the traditions. In addition, teach how to conduct yajnas and rituals to invoke blessings. Few of them offer addition courses in English and Computer literacy programs. Refreshments courses, vocational courses on Veda Agama Sastra are also offered by the various State Religious department and private organizations.
